In 1911 George B. Allan, of English descent, founded George B. Allan & Company to operate as a representative of premier mechanical and electrical industrial product lines throughout Texas and Oklahoma.\r\n\r\nGeorge Allan continued to run the company until his death in 1940. George Allan's nephew, Walter Allan, took over the operation until 1969. Walter sold the company to Walter H. Bunje of Los Angeles, California.\r\n\r\nFrom the company's inception, Armstrong Machine Works was the largest line represented. In 1980, Armstrong Machine Works bought the company and changed the name to Arm-Allan. It remained Arm-Allan for three years until Richard L. Hitz, Operations Manager of the Armstrong Manufacturing plant, located in New Braunfels, Texas, purchased the company from Armstrong. Richard Hitz reinstated the name George B. Allan & Company.\r\n\r\nIn May of 1998 Gregory R. Bloss, Vice President of Operations, purchased the company from Richard Hitz.\r\n\r\n
