NUMECA Int., founded in September 1992 as the result of successful research activities in the field of CFD system, carried out at the Department of Fluid Mechanics of the Vrije Universiteit Brussels, headed by Prof. Charles Hirsch. These research activities led to various software systems in grid generation, IGGtm, in scientific visualisation, CFView tm, and in flow solver and CFD oriented applications.
