The Knight Company core capabilities lie in the design and manufacture of non-metallic process equipment for highly corrosive service. Our roots are in ceramic composition, however today our knowledge has grown to incorporate carbon/graphite and engineered plastics. The following offers a brief overview of capabilities detailed in the enclosed literature.Ceramics and Carbon # Knight#s extensive knowledge of these materials corrosive and functional properties allow us to custom design, engineer and manufacture complete process vessels. This comprehensive approach includes the vessel shell, lining system with standard and proprietary PYROFLEX# membrane technology, ceramic or carbon brick liner, special designed tower internals and standard or high performance FLEXERAMIC# Structured Tower Packing. Plastics and FRP # Knight offers a complete line of tower internals manufactured in a variety of engineered plastics and resin glass combinations. Each internal is custom engineered around the specific application for corrosion resistance, mechanical strength and mass transfer performance. Our engineered plastic internals are a result of the knowledge developed by the Knight organization over their decades of involvement in corrosive mass transfer operations. Complete process vessels lined in engineered plastic material are also available. Design Engineering Capabilities # Our process engineering capability with their years of experience, work closely with customers to address operational problems or new designs for process equipment. They use the both latest technologies in computer simulation for mass transfer and fluid flow, in addition to field data, to understand and optimize the equipment's performance and design. Leveraging our process engineering capability with our expertise in corrosion designs and other in-house engineering design disciplines we successfully support our customers in their endeavor to improve their process economics. Examples are a number of process towers in the sulfuric acid, chlorine and other industries with highly corrosive environments. These installations include the world#s largest 3 stage chlorine drying tower (utilizing sulfuric acid to dry chlorine gas in a Chlor-Alkali plant), sulfuric acid productions units with diameters over 20 ft, HCL absorbers, reaction vessels, and other highly corrosive operations.Field Construction and Project Management # Installation is critical to obtain the benefits expected with the equipment and engineered designs for acid plant towers. The Knight Division's field construction capability insures our customers receive the full benefit of the products we supply. Our project management team effectively executes projects as designed and manages the project to meet the customer time requirements within budget.
